Mikhali Gorbachev had became the communist party new genral secretary. In 1985 he annoced a policy called glasnost/openess.The word glasnost is openess, bringing it to everybody. He tought soviet citizens ways to improve their society. The policy glasnost had brought many changes, it allowed chruces to open, it also allowed publication of books by banned authors.In 1986 he anonoced changes to bring back the soviet union.Now thw sovietunion has greater authority over their factorys and farms.
